Shrub steppe and Eastside steppe habitats are defined as priority habitats in Eastern Washington. These assessments are conducted to determine the presence and quality of shrub steppe and/or eastside steppe habitat on the subject property.
Detailed wildlife habitat assessments are required by multiple jurisdictions based on site characteristics and the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Priority Habitats and Species (PHS) data base. If priority habitats are present on the property and impacts will occur as a result of the development a Habitat Management Plan would be required to move forward with the project.
